ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Nicole

GREETINGS SOROR!
My name is Nicole Benitez and I am a candidate for Alumnae Member of the 2026 Regional Nominating Committee.

I am a native New Yorker, born and raised in a family led by strong and powerful women. Though these women faced numerous obstacles, they always had a vision to overcome any challenges they encountered along the way. Despite their own challenges, they used their strength and resiliency to uplift those around them. These women taught me about community, and were the first to teach me about leadership and helping others. It was their "can-do" attitudes that motivated them to get to where they wanted to be. It is on their shoulders on which I stand.

I am the first, in my family, to graduate college because I adopted the “can-do” attitude from the women in my family. As I began to see small wins and gradual improvements, I never lost sight of my goals. I received my Bachelor of Arts from Syracuse University, Masters in Public Administration from CUNY John Jay of Criminal Justice, and my Juris Doctor from Rutgers University School of Law. Presently, I am an attorney for the City of New York.

Sorors, through it all, I remained focused, adaptable, and resilient in the face of any setbacks. I learned from failures, pivoted when necessary, and celebrated every success, no matter how small. Most importantly, I adopted a personal mantra, “Nicole, you can do it, have faith, and just take the LEAP!”

I understand the importance of leading by example, so I always inspire and encourage those around me to take on a “can-do” attitude by fostering a culture of collaboration, and empowering people to contribute their ideas and talents to get to where they want to be.
